Back to school

Our back to school minishoots over Labor Day weekend were originally rained out by Tropical Storm Hermine but luckily things dried out enough the next day so that we could squeeze them in before school offically started! We had a pack of adorable kids eager for the upcoming school year with bright smiles and all sorts of ideas about the things they were going to learn and do. For instance, Rowan told me he couldn't wait for art and Matthew was more than ready for recess, which he said was his favorite subject.

This awesome desk that we used in the shoot was a thrift store find...I love hitting the thrift store to look for props that can be used in photo shoots. And the location might look like an expansive forest but actually is just a little nook by a local park, a blink and you'll miss it spot. I love it though, how the light comes through the tree branches.

Matthew was super adorable here...he asked very politely if he could save the apple from this shoot for the teacher. Of course I told him yes. I hope his teacher knows how lucky he/she is to have a student who was thinking about how to make them happy even before the school year began!
